Hello World!
Welcome to my blog. Most of us are looking for new ways to save right now. I have found that this can be fun and challenging. I like to find ways to save money that take 5 minutes or less and save dollars not just cents! I only wish that I had started some of these more painless strategies before the current recession hit. I could have been in a lot better shape by now!
I want to hear and share tips for saving money. My favorite tips only take a few minutes to implement and save dollars not just cents right away. These are my favorites, but every little bit still counts so please don’t hesitate to share your tips.
I will share my tips and progress with you and I hope that you share your tips and progress with me. We are in this together so we might as well help each other out.
1. Pack your
lunch. I know you don’t have time but pack your lunch.
At 5 dollars per day your lunch costs 25 dollars per week. That is 100 dollars per month and almost 1100 per year.
At 10 dollars per day which is probably more like it your lunch costs 50 dollars per week. That is 200 per month and almost 2400 per year! I am really bad at math so I always estimate.
If you don’t have time to pack your lunch. Stick a chunk of cheese , some crackers and an apple in your lunch kit along with a small knife. You can cut everything up at lunch. It is very fast.
If that takes too long throw the whole package of lunch meat in your lunch kit along with the cheese and a piece of fruit and a few slices of bread. You now have lunch for several days! You can get by on less than 10 dollars per week for lunch. I promise. I bought a super duper lunch box at walmart for 12 dollars. This kit has already saved me a couple of hundred dollars so no one needs to tell me I did not have to buy a kit. The lunch box is kept right beside my refrigerator so that I can put the leftovers in there after supper. That way it is ready when I leave in the morning.
Let me know how you make out packing your lunch.
